Contract Structural Design Engineer to design supporting structures and plenums for air cooled heat exchangers which meet customer needs at the lowest cost. These are typically galvanized steel structures.

Job Requirements

BS in Mechanical, Structural, Civil Engineering or related degree
5+ years of engineering design with SolidWorks.
Structural design experience a must
Knowledge of heat exchangers and supporting structures and/or plenums
AutoCad knowledge will be helpful.
Self-motivated and able to work autonomously
Will be able to justify designs for quality and cost.

Structural Design Engineer

Responsible for developing project schedules and reviewing project schedules to determine project task sequences and lead times.  Coordinates the activities of a project team and identifies appropriate resources needed to ensure timely completion of a project(s). Performs administrative tasks such as data entry into Microsoft Project to prepare interim and completion reports and may arrange meetings as well as develop agendas. Must be familiar with project objectives and team members’ roles to effectively coordinate the activities of the team.  Confers regularly with other project team members to ensure a designated project progresses on schedule and within defined budget parameters.  Conducts moderate to complex studies, prepares reports and advises on proposals and special projects.  Supports the Project Admin and Contracts Director.

Project Scheduler-Coordinator – Contract Position (Houston)

Recruiting professionals cannot have this to happen.  These are some on my random thoughts for Employers and Candidates!  After 18 years as a recruiter, I have had a frustrating two weeks in the biz!  Why?  My Employers and Candidates are doing their best 007 impressions.

First, I had a candidate look up my services and send a resume.  However, when I contacted the candidate and attempted to profile them for the position of interest, her/she did not want to disclose information about his/her background.   The candidate state,  ”I only want to speak to the employer!”   Sorry, can’t do it!  You contact me.  You are seeking new employment.  However, you are dictating to me how I should work with you in representing you to my client.  NOT going to happen!

Secondly, a new Employer contacted me.  Great!   Things are looking good for the market.  We worked out the service agreement, then I was instructed to “READ the job description” and “SEND resumes!”  Don’t speak the Hiring Managers, only contact HR!  If I contact a Hiring Manager, my contract will be null and void.  WHAT!!!   You want me to spend my time, sourcing and profiling candidates, package their resumes in an email, send to HR and HOPE the Hiring Manager chooses at least one person to interview.  Not going to happen!

Noticed I stated, both individuals CONTACTED ME!  Should I be grateful?  Yes.  However, if you want results, I cannot “Hit the Target” Blindfolded!

Notice the exclamation points!  Yes, I am silently yelling.  And, maybe they are yelling back at me.  However, something’s must give with the drawing the line methods from Employers and Candidates.  Recruiters thrive on information.  Knowledge is power.  Most of all, Knowledge = Placements!

Mr. or Ms. Candidate.  Mr. HR or Ms. HR.  No info leads to an ill prepared recruiter.  And my first shots will be off the mark!

If you want results.  Let me do my job.  Information and knowledge from “true” hiring managers only allow for faster and better placements.  If you don’t share, you’ll be frustrated as well.

Project Manager – Offshore Positions

Project Engineer Overall Responsibilities:

• Responsible for the ongoing development and standardization of company’s bids to customers
• Provide day-to-day support to the global engineering teams
• To proactively develop initiatives to secure key projects/contracts and key accounts
• Responsible for technical and bid/proposal assistance to the regions

Key Responsibilities:

• Review all inbound enquiries and prepare, control and coordinate the collation of all relevant documentation required for key projects/contract bids to ensure a comprehensive, professional response.  Ensure that bid submissions have a common corporate look, include latest product information and all appropriate HSEQ documents/procedures. In conjunction with other departments coordinate a complete contract review on all bids prior to issue to the client. Develop this area into a virtual center of excellence for use by the business globally on the EQMS system or similar.  Develop and support the regions to maximize the business development of onsite machining.
• Day to day maintenance of the business funnel and machining forecast to including the expediting of regional content to deadlines. Audit and test forecast content regularly to ensure consistency and accuracy.
• Provide support to the regions for the day-to-day requirements of key projects and accounts having due regard to the efficiency, safety, quality, budgets and timescales of the projects undertaken.
• Use  onsite machining and Joint Integrity Management services, (JIMS & JDMS) to develop innovative strategies to secure new business.
• Key account management including securing new business.
• Liaise with internal onsite machining team and customers (both internal and external) to ensure all key contacts are aware of latest projects/contract status.
• Work in a manner, which protects the health, safety and welfare of self and others.
• Actively participate in company improvement initiatives including LEAN/Six Sigma.
• Adheres to all Company policies and procedures including quality, safety, environmental and HR.
• Attends customer meetings as required to help secure contracts. Involvement will range from analyzing needs to presenting proposals.
• Proactively develop initiatives to assist in securing projects and key account long-term contracts as well as taking responsibility for a specific emerging region.
• Willing to travel within the US/overseas and develop relationships with regional offices and key customers.

Required Capabilities (describe scope of knowledge and ability of the position):

• At least 2 years experience of working in a Site Machining related role.
• Good mechanical engineering knowledge.
• Sound educational background minimum HNC mechanical engineering preferred.

This Technical Sales Representative will cover a specific territory within the Golden Triangle area, maintaining existing accounts, while being responsible for developing new business where the company has had no presence.   The majority of our business is client/relationship driven; the primary focus is planned projects, turnarounds, and new construction.   The Sales Rep. will be responsible for establishing new contracts/work agreements with the refining/petrochemical/power plants in the area to allow us to respond to their routine and non-planned emergent work. Responsibilities of this individual include:

• Establish contact with existing clients to maintain and build future relationships within the territory assigned.  Candidate must have strong territorial management skills, along with establishing new clients through cold calling, research and networking within the assigned territory.

Vice President of Business Development

The Engineering Manager will take a management and lead role for all aspects of engineering related issues covering the Nuclear industry bolting products including design, development and technical support. They are responsible for the management of multiple projects and co-ordination of the mixed discipline design engineering team to ensure product delivery within agreed timescales, progressing research concepts to development phase, and interfacing with the commercial side of the business to ensure customer goals/product specifications are achieved on time, within cost and to specification.

Key Responsibilities:
* Team leader of the Nuclear product engineering team. The team is responsible for taking new and specialist products within the nuclear support business from concept through to completion and providing all necessary documentation to enable product launch.
* Lead the nuclear team engineering resource to achieve departmental & project goals.
* Take an active role along with Product Management in developing and implementing departmental procedures.
* Take a pro-active involvement in customer application evaluations including customer visits and liaison with commercial colleagues.
* Responsible for allocating day to day workload to the Nuclear team engineers and ensuring deliverables are met.

Required Capabilities:
* Bachelors Degree or equivalent in electrical & mechanical or mechanical engineering with, or be working toward, member grade registration of a recognized professional body.
* Understanding of electrical circuitry and wiring diagrams, if only mechanically qualified.
* Experience in the design and design management of safety critical, PLC controlled hydraulic equipment preferably in the bolting products/tensioning industry.
* Understanding of hydraulic stud tensioning principles.
* Troubleshooting skills and leadership of team, including field service reps, in troubleshooting during critical field events.
* Familiar with and capable of preparing formal Root Cause Analyses.
* Strong presentation skills.
* Leadership, interpersonal, planning/organizing, analytical and influencing talent required.
* Proficient in the use of Solid Works and Pro/Engineer 3D computer aided design.

Engineering Manager

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Plans, manages and coordinates maritime and industrial marine construction and logistics projects for customers in the oil and gas, mining and marine transportation industries. Works with customers from project concept to completion. Coordinates and supervises the project planning, as well as the activities of on-site project personnel to ensure a designated project progresses on schedule and within budget parameters. Confers with project personnel to provide technical advice and to resolve problems.

Partner with business development group in maintaining and building strong relations with customers. Review project proposals and determine the time frames, procedures for accomplishing projects, staffing requirements, and allotment of available resources to various phases of project.

Leader in building a strong project management team through the development of specific systems, processes and standards that drive the operations of the department and enhances project organization, professionalism and profitability.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION:

Bachelors degree in business, engineering or related discipline. PMP certificate required 5 – 10 years as a project manager or project engineer in above stated areas. Must have experience with multi-million dollar projects with focus on either design engineering, construction, overhaul, logistics or supply chain management. Experience with customer and contractor negotiations. Must have experience with subcontracting and sourcing. Must show proven ability of budgeting, cost control, scheduling, and meeting deadlines.
