Vice President of Business Development
Description The Vice President, Business Development will be responsible for selling services as a whole on a global level. The position requires a dynamic individual who is an experienced leader, skilled in business development, strategic planning, networking, with energy, enthusiasm and an entrepreneurial spirit to facilitate growth. Responsible for managing the business development team, establishing objectives, plans, and sales processes for the team. The ideal candidate will have pre-existing contacts in the oil and gas industry and will have experience dealing with the decision makers from those companies. These trusted industry relationships will be key to entry into new global markets. The Business Development leader will be responsible for managing the communications and presentations with new and existing customers.
Responsibilities
• Serve as a key member of the Marine Solutions team that sets the strategic direction for business development.
• Spearhead business development initiatives that are consistent with the company’s overall strategy.
• Responsible for the development, communication and implementation of effective sales growth strategies and processes.
• Build, develop, and grow business relationships in all market segments vital to the success of Marine Solutions.
• Assist the Marine Solutions team in identifying possible investments, acquisitions and partnerships to grow business with accounts and develop business cases to justify those.
• Establish budgets & multi-year forecasts, based on growth plan and market activity.
- Stimulate revenue generation and strategic partnerships development.
• A solid understanding of the market, players, technologies, and a list of contacts in related markets.
• Knowledge of active basins around the world and the ability to analyze geographic regions to maintain competitive landscape
• Build and manage a business development team in multiple geographic regions.
• Coach, mentor, motivate and supervise the business development team members, and influence them to take positive action and accountability for their assigned work.
• Be the driving force in the development of the work ethic, culture and values of the sales and business development group. Through personal example, establish the style and approach which will characterize corporate core values in our dealings within the marketplace.
• Manage multiple business initiatives.
• Manage complex contract negotiations and work with legal and risk as required.
• Superior communication and interpersonal skills in order to effectively present, sell and/or negotiate with customers,
Position Requirements
• Minimum 10 years of progressive Executive level management experience in business development, specifically in the Oil & Gas Drilling industry (Oil Field services highly preferred)
• A Bachelor’s degree in Business or Marketing is required.
• Excellent English speaking, writing and reading abilities are required.
• Demonstrated experience in leading a department, managing personnel and account management.
• Travel and a current passport.
* Ability to elicit cooperation from a wide variety of sources, including upper management, clients, and other departments.
* Strong familiarity with Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Outlook.
